How the example works
The example includes $100 labor, $12 supplies, $8 travel, and $15 overhead: $135 total. A 25% margin, 3% payment fee, and $0.30 fixed fee give ($135 + $0.30) ÷ (1 − 0.25 − 0.03) = $187.9167, rounded up to $187.92.
What this result means
The quote covers only the costs you enter and the margin you choose. It is not a local market rate or a promise that a customer will accept the price. Recheck scope and your actual cost after the job.
Margin is different from markup
Adding 25% to $135 gives $168.75. That does not leave a 25% margin after payment fees. The calculator divides by the part of revenue available to cover costs.
